Are you excited about the possibility of becoming a part of our church family? We would love to have you join us after one of our services for Step 1, where you will meet our pastor and a few other church leaders to hear about our history, ministry philosophy and vision. We also have a question and answer period, fellowship and light refreshments. Childcare is no longer available but we encourage you to bring your children anyways. This meeting is intended to be short and informal.
Step 2 will give you a solid understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It’s designed to help you learn what it means to Worship, Walk with, and Work for Christ here at Harvest Bible Chapel. The class is taught by a ministry leader and is a requirement for anyone interested in becoming a member. Check out our events page for more information and to register for our next Step 2.
Step 3 starts with filling out a Commit Card at the end of Step 2 where you indicate what your next step is to commit to this local church. Depending on where you are, your next step could be one or more of the following: Salvation, Baptism, or Serving. This step is about continuing to grow spiritually and relationally by in rolling up your sleeves through service to Jesus and His church, and in making Harvest your church home. It’s the step that never stops.
The New Testament clearly indicates that groups of people who were followers of the Lord Jesus Christ identified themselves with and committed themselves to a particular local body. In order to implement the principles of accountability and commitment to the local body of Christ, as defined in the New Testament and practiced in the early churches, Harvest Bible Chapel recognizes the need for formal membership. Membership at Harvest Bible Chapel is for all who are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and have visibly demonstrated that commitment through believer’s baptism.
