HOW TO MONITOR PROGRESS
If you are a new leader or have been leading for a long time, you know that it can be difficult to monitor progress or know if you’re doing the right thing. At times, it’s easy to become discouraged and doubt if God is working in your small group or question if your group members are moving in the right direction. To help you discern how God is working in your small group, use the 3 W’s to evaluate the health and growth of your group. As you build momentum and see God working, this is a win. Use these questions to challenge your group and focus on areas that need improvement.
WORSHIP CHRIST
- Are your members regularly attending? If not, what are some of the reasons?
- Do the members of your group regularly attend the Sunday gathering?
- Outside the regular routine as a group, how are you worshiping together?
WALK WITH CHRIST
- Are you seeing the Biblical One Another’s being lived out in your small group members, both in the weekly gathering and outside of it?
- Do you see vulnerability and honesty being exhibited, especially in the mutual ministry breakouts? Are you making sure there is enough time for the breakouts? Are you using the habits and goals structure?
- How are your small group members connecting outside of the weekly gathering to encourage and challenge one another to walk with Christ? (Bible reading plans, eating meals together, group chats, etc.)
WORK FOR CHRIST
- Do the members of your small group serve within the context of the large body of Harvest Buffalo Church?
- Have you served the community as a Small Group?
- Do you see any potential leaders within your group that you can help train by sharing responsibility with them?
- Are you praying towards one day being able to multiply your group for the sake of the mission of making disciples for the glory of God?
