Small Group Members

Uncommon communities applying God’s Word to everyday life

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.”Ephesians 4:1

how to get the most out of your small group

If you want to experience all that Small Groups at Harvest is designed to be, we encourage you to lean in, commit, and enjoy participating in your Small Group. You’ll only get out of Small Group what you put into it. Invest in these four ways to see your group thrive and multiply.

  • Ground yourself in the cornerstone of our faith: Jesus Christ. In order to be an uncommon community, Christ has told us to carry out the “One Another” commands of Scripture. Commit to forgiving one another, loving one another, welcoming one another, bearing one another’s burdens, serving one another, and confessing to one another. When your group embraces the “One Anothers”, you’ll experience loving and authentic community.

  • Apply God’s Word to your everyday life. When your group sits down to discuss the passage, sermon, or study for that week, it is healthy to aim to be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only (James 1:22). Don’t stop at gaining knowledge. Commit to living a transformed life.

  • Mutual Ministry breakout is a time set apart for you and your group to encourage each others’ faith (Romans 1:12). Commit to being open, honest, and accountable in your habits and goals. But the mutual encouragement shouldn’t stop there. Commit to spending time encouraging others outside of your meeting times too.

  • We believe that healthy things multiply. As your group grows in maturity and numbers, you’ll get to celebrate the multiplication of disciples and Small Groups! That doesn’t mean multiplication is easy. It probably means some changes in the relationships you have. But multiplication can breathe new life into a Small Group, create stronger/healthier environments as new members join, and propel the church towards its mission to make disciples. Commit to taking ownership of multiplying your group, welcoming new members, and celebrating the work God is doing through you and your leaders.
